Cordwinder HELP!

So the Cordwinders on my Electrolux Lx is a worn out, and retracts the cord very slowly, as is the one on my Kenmore Pregressive. Can someone tell me how to fix them?

Step 1--Be aware the springs can cut you badly and quickly!!
Step 2--Decide to not fix or use EXTREME CAUTION.
Step 3--Consider finding used part or pats machine.
Elux 1205 and newer are easiest to fix with caution & knowledge.Many others are best to replace.

On the Super J and similar, there is a steel coil spring that can weaken over time. Yours is probably similar. Time to find a replacement.

I have 2 cordwinders for the LX. One is in good cosmetic shape, but retracts very slowly. The other is rusty and the plug is dangerous looking, but retracts well. Should i make one good one of the two?

The round steel shell cordwinders for the 30 thru the early AF use a different spring setup.

The spring setup that shown in reply 2 was used in the Model 2 cordwinder which started with the late model AF then in the Model G forward.
