cool website with old catalogs

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

Hi knoxfrzb.

Thanks for the info. While I couldn't access the forum, I was able to see some great stuff in the main section. Is this a membership only site? I think it will be a great place for me and others to research some really old vacuum cleaners. I plan to spend a good deal of time looking into the Sears, Montomery Wards, and Spiegle wishbooks.

Once again, thanks for sharing.

Alex Taber.

Hi knoxfrzb.

I couldn't find access to the index of the Spiegle Christmas 1955 issue (the only one I looked at). How do we acess just the vacuum cleaner pages?

Thanks for the info.

Alex Taber.

You have to use the navigation bar at the bottom which shows thumbnail versions of all the pages in one catalogue. Use your mouse or your keyboard's arrow button to navigate to the left or right to flip through the catalogue. It seems that the Christmas catalogues have very few vacs - maybe one page showing a handful of models. Maybe they show more in the spring catalogues...

only a couple of vacs

but soo many neat stuff..im a toy collector at heart and spent 3 hours yesterday sifting thru the toys...i didnt even try to get into the forum

FOUND IT!

Thanks for the link! I found a picture of the machine that brings back so many memories. My great grandmother's Kenmore Twin Fan from 1988ish.

It Looks Like:

WishbookWeb is down, at least for the moment. I am making an educated guess, but I would bet that Christmas traffic for the site probably exceeded Globat's bandwidth limits, and now they want more money to host the site. They're probably shutting it down until they can come to terms with the site owner.

I sincerely hope it will re-open; it's a great site.

Wishbook Web is BACK!

Persistence pays off!

I kept checking the Wishbook Web site each day, getting the same discouraging message that the site was "temporarily unavailable."

But today, the site was back online, so for the moment at least, all is well in Wishbook Land.
