Continuous Duty Vacuum

Good morning,

Could anybody recommend a Continuous Duty Vacuum to be used on a bench grinder? The small shop vacuums are perfect in size, cost and some are even quiet enough not to be obnoxious, but they can't take being left on for hours, which some operators are prone to doing. These grinders are moved from machine to machine on a peditstal, so can't be connected to our central vac.

I'm kicking around using timer switches or something, but need yet another replacement vacuum at the moment. Might as well purchase one that can take the abuse.

You want a slow speed industrial vac. You should be able to find one used.


The slower speed also means it is quieter than a regular Shop-Vac.

A good shop vac can also work. Mine attaches to my table saw. Those with larger work shops buy the belt driven blower type with he large cloth bag.

Thanks for that info and link about the ARCO. I found a ARCO 12-S on Ebay for $3,500.00. They look a little large and very pricey. I just ordered a new grinder and 15 minute timer switch from Zoro. Still not sure which vacuum I'll get, but it will probably just be a cheap shop vac. I doubt anybody will sign off on anything over $500.
