Hi all,
I'm feeling ambitious and considering constructing something to retrofit the afterfilter that goes on later C-style bag Electroluxes (the High-Tech 2100/Diplomat and on) to older canisters (the ones with the upward-facing exhaust ports, the 1205 through the Marquise).
First, does anyone have any experience with this? Other than the accessory clip being in the way, it looks that this may not be too difficult to accomplish.
Second, what's this hole in the bag chamber for (this is in a Diamond J)? I noticed when disassembling that it's connected to the cord winder - I presume it's just a way to prevent over-loading the motor in the event that the bag clogs up and the cleaner doesn't shut off properly? I seem to recall seeing a thread about it a while back. What would be the consequence of blocking it off?
Thanks guys!
