So I got a couple of new vacs this weekend. One of them was a Hoover Conquest that I actually bought over a month ago! Thanks so much to Eric and Austin for making this happen for me! Eric found it on Craigslist in Dallas and picked it up for me. He was of course paid immediately. It was an undertaking getting the machine from Dallas down here, but well worth it! It looks like new! Thanks again to Eric and Austin both for cleaning it up and getting it down here!

Hoover Celebrity QS

Here's another interesting one....A Hoover Celebrity QS. This one was sent graciously from our own Dirtfinder1! Thanks Dave! This one is interesting. It's a straight suction only Celebrity on wheels with the step on switch. Has the original hose in decent shape with the tools! Runs like a top too. I'm really liking these Celebrities....

For those wondering, the Celebrity is a model S3183 and the Conquest is a model U7069-080

That Conquest

Hi, Eric. Congrats on your Conquest. I'll bet you could also mow the grass with it! Back when I was a Mormon, our church had that same upright in grey, not as pretty as yours, but this thing can really SUCK. CONGRATS and HAPPY HOOVERING, Take care.....Bill in Az.....

Dial a Nappish

Never seen the conquest model before but then I never regularly went to industrial supply/janitorial stores that were the main places selling them like Acklands Grainger etc.

If you want a sense of scale......each one of the tiles in the pictures is 12" square. This thing is HUGE, but it works so well. It's surprisingly quiet too. It's built like a tank, and honestly worth bearing the Hoover badge! This one was made in '98 (still looks brand new) so it's still a Hoover, not a TTI monstrosity. The rating plate actually says "Made in USA".

It can be either way. It is a 14" cleaning path too. The red bag is just an outer bag. Inside it has a filltube that will accept the Permabag (shakeout), or a Type A bag. I have a Type Y filtrete bag in it which seems to really work well in it.

I have one, too...

I got mine about 3 or 4 years ago... time flies. It was NIB on eBay, and I paid maybe $100 bucks for it. Only thing is they don't come with the bag or dirt cup packed with the machine. So, I just bought a bag assembly at work for however much they were, less than $50.

I packed it back in it's box when I moved to North Carolina... and never took it out. I need to find it now and unpack it now that I'll have more room to play with it!

Mine is the black and orange C1800.

They really are wonderful machines, solidly built, serviceable, quiet, and they do the cleaning job quite well. Sadly, the manufacturing of the Conquest has gone to China, now that TTI has taken over. --you know, pay someone in China even LESS to make it, so they can make even MORE of a profit-- but I digress.

We sold a LOT of them when I was at Hoover, maybe one or two out of ever 50 or 100 would be sold with a bag setup. People loved that damn dirt cup! I though they were a mess to empty and maintain... but still better than something with filters, etc.. A lot of them were bought by restaurants, churches, cleaning services. Only thing we were sure to tell them was to bring it in for regular servicing. And they did.

I did have the chance to examine one of the China-built machines in person, and was impressed with how well they duplicated it. There were a lot of small differences that were barely noticeable, but one could definitely tell that it was a different machine, even though it was the same. Make sense?

Thanks for posting your find! Enjoy it!

Good thing you mentioned those 12" tiles I was thinking it was smaller as well, like a Hoover Junior size almost

Congrats....
