Compact vacuum for litter? Suggestions please!

Hmm....I'm not getting along with my current "Litter vac" which is a Dirt devil 360 stick vac. The problem with it is it's horrid filtration i noticed it releasing clouds of dust as i went around the litter box. I replaced a Dyson dc-26 with this hoping to save some room. The Dc-26 kind of lacked in power and took up a fair amount of storage space.

Here's what i'm looking for
- Bagless (Gasp) My cat often knocks litter out of his box so i prefer being able to dump it back in
- compact in size
- decent filtration

actually id go whit a small shopvac problem solve now if you want bag less witch in my mind is a bad idea (dust all over the place back to square one)id get a canister or some thing from walmart like a Bissel Zing bagless or hand vac

The Bissell zing , Riccar sunburst and Royal S10 s15 are all good little canister options personally I would consider something bag maybe even a Miele stick vac. If you must go cordless and Bagless I would take a look at the offerings from Hoover they seem to be the best price.

I know it's not what you're looking for, but my go-to litter vac is an Electrolux Discovery II. I can do the bathroom where the litter pan is in about a minute. On the hard floor, I use it with the brush roll turned off, but then turn it on to get the mats.

It does not need to be cordless. While I am not a fan of bagless machines it just makes sense in this scenario. As stated my cat will kick out piles of litter at times and it's better to be able to just dump it back into his box.

Just tossing this out there, this week purchased from the tool dept of Walmart a 1 Gallon Stanley Shop vac, $19, shocked at the quality and power, just a cloth to filter though, not sure how well it would contain the dust, handy for the car though!

A small shop vac

Has been a thought but the cloth filter is the issue. that little dirt devil puffs out dust and I Think with just a cloth filter a small unit would do the same, If i could fit a cartridge filter into one it'd work great but i don't think they produce them for such small units.

@suckolux shop vacs need to be operated in a well-ventilated area the dust emissions are too high to operate inside a house. Especially considering cat litter is a rather toxic substance to breathe.

I have the self cleaning cat litter box. You change litter every week has a dome over it and like liter mat in front of it. It makes cleaning alot easier and there is no lingering vinegar smell. Its pricey but less mess easy upkeep.

While i'd love

A self cleaning box I think my cat is a little too big to fit into one I actually use a trimmed storage tote as his litter box and that's even a little small for him. There is a mat in front of it too but he just scoops litter over the edge sometimes....and when he does it's quite a lot.

I didn't know your cat was Garfield. Try putting plywood or sheet rock on 2 sides of cat box consolidating 2 areas.
Id use a broom or shopvac.

Small shop vac.

You can get small Stanley or shop vac brand and bags at pretty much any Wal-Mart.

When cleaning dry messes I always use bags in my shopvas.

Why not try the Black and Decker Smart Tech stick vac? It has very good filtration according to Consumer Reports and has a removable hand vac to pick up any kitty litter that finds its way into tight corners. The motor is further down on the handle so it’s no where near your face like so many clones of the Dyson stick vacs.

I take it an old fashioned broom and dust pan are out of the equation. Takes up little space and can recycle the litter picked up off the floor with little fuss.
