Filter i know there is a tread on contemporary site but i am confused . I have some family whit dust allergies that are really bad and i thought of upgrading my lovely Compact Eelectra Interstate filters to a tower filter . (see pic below) .I use enviro care paper liner ,cloth liner ,motor filter and cap.Now i want to upgrade it to a tower filter and make sure no dust is renaming in the house so when they visit or come by the house is clean .Now also my mom has breathing issues that are aggravated whit allergies or cold so would it be good or would it restrict air flow ?Confuse Compact Owner.
I know the filter fresh is a No Go due to air flow restriction how is this one i see one on ebay im going to buy it soon .the filter pictured is on sale now .Due to familly coming to visit in summer time im wondering is it worth it ?Also it would complete my C9I read the tread on contemporary but i more confuse now .

We call that filter the "microwave popcorn popper filter". I do not believe new filter elements are available. What's wrong with the Filter Fresh? I use it on my Patriot as well as my 1992 Tri-Star. It quiets the machine down but doesn't restrict airflow or cleaning power. You do realize that if you use a HEPA pre-motor filter there is no dust in the exhaust. You're overthinking the amount of filtration necessary to help someone with allergies. A HEPA air purifier, running constantly, would be a far better bet.

I agree with Tom on continuous HEPA filtration from an air purifier. Vacuuming removes a lot of bulk and general dirt. When you stop vacuuming - well - your body is still producing dead skin cells.
