Cloth vac Bags

Does any one know what type of material cloth bags were/are made of. It looks as if I'm going to have to make a replacement bag for a machine and need to know what type of fabric to get....Any help would be appreciated Thanks, Crevicetool

I think...

From what I can tell at least the older ones were made of close knit heavy cotton twill or duck. I've found a really close match in a fabric store. You shouldn't have a problem finding the material. When I have the time I am planning on making a pattern from an unusable bag and doing the same thing. Jay

All I do is look at some fabric, look at it in the light, and if I can hardly see holes, then that is tightly woven enough for a bag. I found some good black material that I will eventually make a bag out of. Good luck!
