So I recently just started working at a vacuum store and in the back with all there spare machines I saw this. A clear Miele canisters! I couldn't believe it. I know sebo has a clear upright model but never seen a Miele. I asked the other technician about it and said people always wanted to get rid of it but he kept it because his felt that someone will take it and I was the one. He let me take it for free! Anyone know how how rare these are or are they not? It works great and is in great condition. It didn't come with hose or power nossle but I have one. I'm super happy to own this. Anyone else know any more information on it too? I wil try and get more pictures of it and maybe a video.

I have the clear Sebo upright-these were dealer only machines for demos. Was fun to watch the floor nozzle height mechanism work. The clear Miele is really cool-will see if the dealer here can get me one.

Very Cool Machine

Can't help but throw my two cents at this one.
I had an opportunity to service one awhile back and have wanted one since.
It was, of course, a display unit for dealers at the time the model was sold. Like you, he picked it up from a dealer that was done with it.

Fun quirk about this one is that the cord was shortened at the factory to something like 5-ish feet. The unit that came in for service had a bad cord reel, so when changing it out we gave the customer the option of keeping it original and swapping the short cord back on keeping the longer cord which comes on the replacements. He opted for the longer cord, so I have kept the (damaged) reel with it's cute little genuine cord, in case ...

He now gets to use a fully-functioning, clear Miele to clean the house. No secret that I am jealous, of both of you.

Should you ever consider taking an offer on it, or if anyone else might have one they would like to part with, please send an email my way.

I hope you get to use and enjoy ~

PS ~ careful with those plastics ... and remember the superglue and baking soda trick should a crack occur - catch it early and you might save the part. I'm fairly certain those clear parts were all n/a

Did they make the power nossel and hose clear too? I just check and mine has like a 5 foot cord too! That is a cool thing. I don't think I will be selling it any time soon but it does have a very special spot in my collection.

Not to my knowledge. I believe it was really just what you have there.

I can not recall it having power to the hose port for a nozzle (though you could easily tell looking inside yours - I am having trouble viewing the image here) and I don't know that they even put tools in it. If so dealers would've removed them in order to see inside better!

It was not so much to demo as to display. Likely would have had a standard unit near it with hose n such to demo.

It was an interesting call to Miele to get the part number for the cord reel. I gave the rep the serial number and once she poked it in her keyboard she exclaimed "wow. I've never gotten to help with one of these before!" and knew right away what it was. Seemed to have status with them, too.

Now that you've asked, and were it mine, I would HAVE to get started on creating that clear hose and wands and nozzles. Might even down size the hose diameter so I could use the clear and sparkly TriStar tools with it. I would make a mess just to clean it up and watch it go inside, and then make another one ... I'm drooling ... sorry ... enjoy your vacuum cleaner ~

Dealer display

This is a very rare dealer machine that looks like it's in great condition. I'm glad you got it and very glad no one threw it away. This was from the 2001-2005 period when the S500 Solaris machines with 1100-watt motors were the upper-mid-range models but before the entire range was changed to 1200-watt Vortex motors. I know one person who has one. If it works, it's one of the most collectible Mieles in existence. They never were sold to customers, or at least shouldn't have been. Congrats!

They do! The suction only hose and nozzle it has with it is what came with the machine new, I have the box for it somewhere too. Such an interesting machine!
