cleaning vacuum tools (i.e. bare floor brush)

Just curious, do you clean your bare floor tools, and if so how? Have a Lux Ambassador III, and regularly use the bare floor brush to vacuum kitchen, bathrooms, etc. Is it safe to soak the bare floor brush?

It should be.

I have MANY HOOVER floor brushs. THew bristle part "peels out' for the purpose of cleaning and or replaceing. The rubber parts come out very clean after a nice soaking.

I do clean the bristles after each time I use the floor brush, the dusting brush or one of the turbo heads for cleaning stuff, by removing dirty matters with my fingers. I sometimes use the crevice tool or the plain hose tip to clean the attachments' interiors and bristles. I never put my accessories in water nor used soap to clean them, unless if we had a wet-and-dry canister like a Shop-Vac.

I usually run the hose over the brushes to clean them. This works fine. Supposedly my Wessel Werk rd285 brushless floor nozzle is dishwasher safe but have not cleaned it with water because I have not needed to.

I usually use the hose end to vacuum off dusting brush, floor brush, upholstery brush, etc after using. It should be safe to wash them in soapy water, but I don't know that it would really do much to clean the bristles of dust, probably just create mud. It's worth a try, just make sure they're dry before you try to use them again.

It is recommended to first vacuum clean the brush bristles BEFORE washing the brushes; THEN air-dry with a wet pick-up vac like a Rainbow, Sirena or shop vac
