So my neighbor moved away, but she had to clean her apartment and she had been using one of the Bissel bagged monstrosities from Wally world. Since she had to clean the apartment after she left, she needed to borrow a vacuum. Well I am fairly protective of my machines plus I wanted to do it HAHA. So I took the Tristar over. I didn't want to use a fan first machine in case there was a loose nail or something. I wish I had a digital camera to show the results. The apartment is about 600 sq feet and I had to change bags 5 times. I have never seen anything like it! I used cheap F&G bags and just cut them in half instead of using genuine Tristar bags and I knew I would have to change bags multiple times..

ARE YOU SERIOUS? dam that sounds like my sister in laws apt...5 bags..wow man..that soooo had to be one funky apt..i keep a loaner on demand vac at home..[ddvl fthr lite]..just for those funky situations, and only those....5 bags?your one heck of a friend...

2.5 bags 0utta 600sq is alot o stuff .ewwww. but hey its a friend....i like those tristars tho...built like a tank.

Yea when I vacuum I never hear grit and sand. This time I could feel it being pulled up in the hose it was really cool! I kept saying this is so cool! She was like you are so weird haha.. Oh well!! :-)

WEIRD....nah were just misunderstood. and [opening up the bag and that sound] is called the 'WOW EFFECT' .....or our continuious r&d...and even as funky as my sis in laws carpet was...it was pretty awsome to hear and see all that lurked down deep....but get urself a "loaner only" vac because those that know us and need one...know we have alot of them.so this way u can reach for old reliable...and protect the fleet.

amen I agree with that. when someone needs a vac I usually loan out a (cough cough) eureka bagless, or my very trusty Sanitaire which I love. I also have a eureka Excalibur upright that I lent out to someone and I am going to get it back hopefully with in the week.

I agree with having a loaner vac, I have a beat up Hoover Power Max and a pretty decent Hoover Legacy for loaners, just added a so-so Kirby G5 to the loaner pile

ive also learned [hard way] to ask myself these 2 questions 'WHY IS THEIR VAC BROKEN,WHAT BROKE IT' BEFORE loaning out. nothing worse than your vac returned with something gooey leaking out of it..
