It's that time again. I just finished helping my aunt w/ moving the refrigerator to clean behind, etc. Her lights will go up this week.
I've washed the windows and siding here, too. Lights will go up very soon. Yes, I plan to put up all 4 trees this year. I won't be traveling to my sister's as we were just there for T giving.
It's also too soon to start the cookie blitz, but, that, too, will happen. I've stocked the kitchen already.
Fresh bag in the 1076. ready, set, let's go!

John, congratulations on the negative redult on your cancer tests. I am sure you must be relieved. Can't wait to see photos of your home all decorated and ready for Santa. You have a beautiful house, and good taste :). Hopefully sometime after Christmas is over we can talk again.

David, be careful decorating your apartment! Too bad I don't live nearby or I would offer to help out. You're a great guy, alwsys polite, helpful and complimentary in your postings here. Plus I was taught when I was a boy to lend a hand to your elders when they need help.

Stay safe with this new Omicron Covid variant out now, guys. Happy Holidays :).

Rob

Thanks, Rob. It's been a roller coaster of health stuff

since Spring, surgery, tests, etc. A few more things left to do.
But, to quote Auntie Mame, it's time to "Haul out the holly". I won't be traveling for Christmas this year, so, I'll be entertaining a bit more (safely). I'll probably have a vacuum holiday get together some time in January, like I used to. There will be fewer people here, but, that's OK too.

This year, I replaced all of the outdoor

wreaths with beautiful sprays. I put them up last night, with a matching wreath for the front door. All 4 trees will go up this year, too. I saw a fireplace mantle at The White House. I'm attempting to recreate it as well. It is green garland, red balls and gold painted leaves. It should look great on the mantle here at my place. And, we cannot forget 'that staircase'.

Sounds good John! I didn't put up a tree this year. I did however decorate the outside of my house with lights and wreaths. My niece wanted me to get one of those blow up yard decorations. I can see how some people would find them atrocious. It will probably grow me. My niece chose Mickey Mouse.

I know we are of different backgrounds and beliefs here on VacuumLand. I'll just say I agree with a yard decoration/sign in my neighborhood that reads "Jesus is the reason for the Season".

Kenny, you are so right.

Afterall, Christmas IS really the Nativity....the birth of Jesus. Some people celebrate it in it's entirety, some just the sucular part, some, none at all.Advent began 2 weeks ago. I observe that, too.
I've even been involved in Hannuka festivities. Thankfully, we live in a country where we can do as we like. When we were kids, everyone came to us. That has changed now. My sister's was the place, until her kids became adults.
Still, lots of family and friends love to come to this ols place during the holidays, as, according to them, it "always looks and feels so nice and comfortable there at Christmas". So, since I won't be traveling this year, the decorated doors will be open once again.
