Does anyone have any experience and could give me any tips on getting a new stick vac? Just want something for quick clean ups on the tile floors in the main parts of the house - pet hair, pollen, leaves etc that accumulate in between vacuuming.

Mostly I want something simple - probably not rechargeable and don't need a powered brush roll. Probably something around ~$20.

I used to have a Bissell 3 in 1 vac from the 90s and liked it a lot. It had two filters so you could wash one and have an extra while it dried. It also had a crevice tool. Really should have kept it. So I'm leaning toward a Bissell Featherweight.

I also have a nice vintage Hoover Handivac, but I don't have any bags for it at the moment. I might use that, but it's pretty loud and I just want something I can dump out in the trash when I'm done.

My Bissel Featherweight has served me well for nearly 10 years. The design has basically stayed the same and I would definitely recommend it. I think they are actually on sale on Walmart's website for like $10 with certain colors! My only real gripe with the machine other than cord length is it uses a "filter in bin" design, so the main filter actually sits where all the dirt collects and it sometimes makes emptying it a chore with all the extra dirt sticking to the filter. I can't complain too much though as almost every stick vac (especially ones in this price range) uses this design. Overall a really solid little vacuum!

Yeah, I was thinking Bissell too. I know I have seen them also selling at Walmart for around $10 during back to college sales. But I had a look and they are $23 at my local Walmart right now, which is kind of high to me for what they are. Big Lots they're about the same price, and I don't think Bed Bath and Beyond has any in stock right now.

Hmm I very rarely see Mieles around here, I think I've only ever seen one Miele upright. But I'll keep a look out.

I love the cordless Swiffer Sweep + Vac.... very simple and only $40. The front suction channel picks up surface litter and the Swiffer cloth mops up all the fine electrostatic dust.
