I guess it would be more for camping, but it puts out a good amount of heat, and brings two cups of water to a boil in around 10 minutes, so it's perfect for an emergency situation when our power and gas lines are down.
Anyways, it's called a penny stove. It's made out of the bottoms of two pop cans and a penny. Most commonly, it uses 91% isopropyl rubbing alcohol as a fuel, (note: 50% and 70% WILL NOT WORK, as the alcohol content is not great enough!) I've heard of people using HEET, some kinds of booze, and other things to fuel it though. Here's a picture of the one I made, with a stove made from bricks. (Also a creation of mine.)
