Does anyone have any guidance for selecting a CV power unit for higher altitudes (Denver's air is about 18% less dense than at sea level.) Which is more important to preserving cleaning power -- more water lift, or more CFM (or both)? My plan is to get the largest practical unit in any case, but across the many product lines there seems to be a tradeoff between these two parameters. Or am I overthinking this?

Units I'm considering --

NuTone VX1000 - Great specs, but some here have indicated less than stellar quality and cumbersome bag changes.

MD Silentmaster S5 - Looks like a great machine, but I'm having trouble finding pricing or a local distributor (this will be a DIY install).

Airvac AVP24000 - There seems to be very little information about this machine like who makes the motor, detailed photos, etc.

Drainvac Viper 9 gal - like the Airvac, very little information.

Imperium CV300 - Decent specs, good price. I'd prefer a bypass motor (or two), though.

Valet AT-120 - Looks identical to the Imperium above.

I need a bagged or bagless filtered machine because I can't vent outside. Electrical requirements are no problem since I'll be running a new circuit.

Do you have any experience with any of the above units? Any thoughts, advice or suggestions?

Thanks.

Look up...

MD. They have some of the most extensive information on central vacs on their site. The less dense air at high altitude  is affected more by every bend in the tubing, making increased suction easier to achieve than increased airflow.

Installed!

After much consideration, I selected the 240 volt MD Silentmaster S5 and the associated Stealth PN. The local MD distributor was great, and sold me all of the necessary parts at a great price (and no shipping costs on the 8 foot tubes).

Here is the power unit in the garage --

A nice choice!

the Silent Master seems like it's an excellent machine i've looked into them and if i ever got a central it would be my first choice you will not be dissapointed with that Stealth nozzle.
