Hi everybody!

I have a Miele S2 Delphi with the SEB 217 nozzle...I paid $499 at a local vac shop in Chandler, AZ. I've had it for 2 years now, and I love it.

In looking at various eBay auctions and central vac supply websites, I've noticed that Wessel-Werk nozzles and floor tools, NOT branded as Miele, are considerably cheaper: For example, in the link you'll see the equivalent of Miele's SEB 228, for $150. I know the diameter of the wand is different...is there a part I can purchase to replace the neck so it will fit a Miele? In taking apart various Wessel PN's I've seen that the neck is a separate, and probably replaceable part. There is a price difference of $60, for the same thing!

This picture shows a Wessel Werk D330 "Turn & Clean." It is $24. Miele's "Parquet Twister" is $69! The solution for this, albeit inelegant, is simple: I'm going to purchase a $5 friction-fit adapter that will let me use the Miele 1 3/4" wand on this tool. It's basically the exact same nozzle...which I had with my S4 Sirius...and I LOVE it.

So, Miele people and shop owners: Is there a part I can finish to replace the upper neck on this Wessel-Werk EBK360 so that it will fit the wand, lock in place, and match the wand connector (direct connect). I know there's got to be...I just need to know the part number and how to get my hands on it.

For any of the non-powered Wessel Werk tools, there are 1 1/2" to 1 3/4" adapters all over the web: They are friction fit, and I encourage you to take a look at the Wessel Werk nozzles and attachments on eBay! I certainly plan on buying the parquet brush + adapter, and I'll still be spending less than half of the $69 for the Parquet Twister.

Don't get me wrong, I love my genuine Miele parts...and I love the shiny "Miele Electro Plus" writing on the nozzles :) But for this poor RN, saving money is key right now: If I can get one for substantially less, I'm all for it. I'd appreciate any thoughts any of you have, and if you know about that replacement neck, you're my hero! :)

Take care,
Trav

Thanks! Does anybody else have any insight? I'd really like to know if Miele sells replacement necks for their PN-SEB 228, SEB 236. If anyone can fill me in, I'd be really appreciative.

There may be a solution . . .

Hi Trav,

I have information that I do not prefer to share on online as I do not wish my sources possibly abused by way of annoying calls. And also because, if I have to type a treatise on guerrilla shopping tactics I'd have to bang out something the length of War and Peace. The fingers can't take it.

That said, If you are comfortable with it, you may email me at [email protected]. Supply me with a phone number and I'll get back to you. And . . . don't forget a pen or pencil.

Best,

Venson
