Before getting the concept in the vintage side of this forum I bought this Miele revolution 600 for £15. Having previously had one that became an annoyance to use due to the faulty hose syndrome I was skeptical about buying it. For the steal price I got it I thought why not. Well when I got it home I found it works flawlessly. It came with all attachments and a newly fitted post filter. It was quite dirty but a good clean up and new pre filter and bag has given it a new life. Enjoy the pictures!

Hey!
Really nice machine! I am thinking of getting a Miele S7 or S5 cat and dog :)
Enjoy the Miele!

That's one heckuva deal on a very good vacuum cleaner. Wish we had some before photos to see how dirty it was before you cleaned it up. What is the faulty hose syndrome you mentioned?

Hi Tayyab- pick the cylinder models they're a bit nicer then the uprights.
Dircik- Considering there's nothing wrong with it £15 is a bargain :) the faulty hose syndrome is common in the revolution style cleaners where the electrified hose becomes faulty from poor connections or broken wires. They are known to break so I'm very surprised this one work fine!

Ok, those 360 degree Kenmore hoses have the same problems. Sliding contacts around dirt, heat and vibration. What were the Dilberts thinking? Aren't they pretty straight forward and inexpensive to repair though? Lots of how-to vids on Youtube showy you how to take apart and repair those hoses. I wouldn't park a vacuum over a hose problem.

I parked my old one over it haha - new hoses are ever so expensive and the vacuum itself was tired. I have no clue why they got rid of it? Perhaps the new shiney dysons tempted them!
I think those kenmores are slightly more easy to fix, which I would have done . More electrified hoses needed to be added to the market- just a shame about the problems associated with them.

They may well have got rid of it because of its weight. These old Miele vacs are rare and like hen's teeth but they are also fairly heavy and last longer than a lot of the more modern ones. One reason alone to why Currys decided to sell Miele S700s again, because even without the Revolution model, the basic machine is far better made IMHO than the more modern, lighter ones.

I agree they are so heavy and quite large compared to newer models. They are a good deal quieter too!
Are these really rare? You can normally find them on eBay although expensive and not always working.

The XXL badged ones are rare, as are the Revolution models in silver. There was a blue version which was more common but it was the second last time (or could have been the last time) where Miele in the UK fitted their cylinder vacs with a PN as standard.

Sigh. My next eBay vacuum might have to be a Miele canister, just to see what all the talk is about. Which ones came with Ametek Lamb motors?
