I have a Royal upright made by the Continental Electric Company in Toronto Ontario. It has patent dates of 1916, 1922 and 1923 on it. It was sold by BC Electric Company in Vancouver BC. We have the box with the accessories and pamphlet in it. it is in really good condition.
My husband bought it when we were newly-weds (40 years ago)at a garage sale sight unseen because I needed a vacuum. It worked but I convinced him a new Hoover canister was what I really needed. So it has been kept as a conversation piece, with the funny story to go along with it. We have to down size now and are thinking of selling it. Can you give me any advice on this?
Thank you.

That's one of the first versions of the Royal "Super". It was made in the later part of the 1920's. It's was described as a "Super" as opposed to a "Standard", since the motor was slightly higher powered than the "Standard" (1914 through 1926), and had a round bag coupling as opposed to the oval "standard" bag connection coupling. Very nice condition - can't wait to bid on it on eBay.

Thank you for the information. I just read your profile and I see why you are such a wealth of information. I have never sold anything on ebay only a few things on Craigslist locally. If I can get my hubby to go into the crawlspace I can take a picture of the box and with the attachments and post it. I just love the little booklet that shows what this modern convenience is capable of.
