I have lately been very interested in the procedures for restoring a metal-based Hoover Convertible, specifically the models that do not have a full hood and have a painted base.
My first question is, if the paint on the base is "fish-eyed" or has some spots of loss, wear, or chips, can they be repaired without the whole base being repainted?
Secondly, I would like to know how other Convertible collectors are able to match the paint color of the base and apply the new paint (i.e. brush, airbrush???)?
