Greetings VL, it's been a while. Hope everyone is well.
In front of me, I have two Riccar Vibrances with the hall sensor and lifetime belt feature. One is a dream machine of mine that I found last year, the other is a parts machine. The problem is that the dream machine, the one that's in perfect shape, the motor does NOT shut off if you vacuum up an obstruction and jam the brushroll. So I swapped both the hall sensor AND the hall sensor board from the donor machine (which does shut off as intended) and the first machine still won't shutoff, and the donor machine still works fine!
Long story short, after swapping all the hall sensor parts from one machine to the other, both vacuums work exactly the same as before.
My thoughts are, perhaps the first machine was wired incorrectly from the factory? I put all the wires exactly in the same place on both machines during reassembly. My other thought is that perhaps the motor has another component in it that's gone bad?
