Consumer reports...

Always down rated these as having poor suction, NOTHING could be farther from the truth, it has a Cadillac built motor, two speed and has terrific suction and airflow, the company that made these is still in business, Clements manufacturing co.

Actually..

It is totally different, the bag is about the size of a Eureka 800 Roto Matic, the swivel top is made of 2 pieces of cast aluminum, and the motor is a great big 2 speed thing that they built, very similar to the motor in the tanks they made, except more powerful,it has a sound completely different from anything else.

Hey Hans -

That sure is purty. A question about it: what's the port down at the bottom - is that a blower port?

I wish I knew where you could get some attachments. Do you think Clements has any leftover sets from 1956?? - JL

DONT!

I wish, yeah that is the blower port, in the ads it shows a diffuser but I dont have it, the attachments were similar to there tank attachments except the rug tool had a floating brush and the tanks had a metal comb type thing.

It is comparable...

Suction wise, it is much noisier as the air is not diffused, the bag is more like a 800 Eureka, the motor has a shield over the top and the air is drawn in on the sides, just like Eurekas are, the motor is a weird thing, very large and 2 speed, good power but loud.

Just the way I like them, "good power and large".

By the way, Hans, I recently found a Betty Feezor cookbook, Carolina Recipes II. Thanks for making me aware of her, this book is awesome.
