That is pretty cool. They use the same design but newer technology making it quieter and more efficient.
I'm not versed in this model but I'm guessing a Canadian version of Electrolux?

As far as I can see, the machine has nothing to do with Canada. It is a British machine, based on the old British Vacuum Cleaner / Goblin models (as in Hubert Cecil Booth).
I think you're confusing the 110 volts with Canada.
It is perfectly common for UK builders, contractors, etc., to use electric drills and other machinery - including vacuum cleaners - via a 240v-to-110v step-down isolating transformer, especially where dampness/water is prevalent.
