I read the review of this book in the paper and had to get the book from the library.
It has a great story to it about a bug going through 5 stages of being sucked up. The illustrations are beautiful. It also features a wiener dog which I am quite fond of.

<p style="text-align: left;">Surely there was a part about a collector scooping that beauty off the curb in the last picture, right?

and hopefully before it gets crunched in the trash truck compactor!Saw this on Applianceville.Great little book!! Would be good for vacuum collectors, dog fans, and even trash truck fans.OR with the trash pickup--the trashman saved the vacuum in the cab of the truck!!!Some trash bodies have small bins on them for "treasures"!

"the trashman saved"

Years ago our small towns one small trash truck had grates with square holes to step up at cab.At the end of a day they would be filled with glass soft drink bottles neck down to return for deposit.

Many years ago, I was a reporter for a small town newspaper and one time got into a conversation with the director of the county landfill. He had some great stories of his days on a trash truck and the stuff he and his buddies would salvage from the curb. He said had a little side business for a while repairing and selling lawn mowers people would throw out. He said half of them just needed a new spark plug and a good carburetor cleaning. Kinda sounds like me and vacuum cleaners.
