Ok so my friend told me the vacuum store owner told him this when he picked up my convertible 65 base.
My friend commented on the hood being in bad condition. The owners reply was "Oh you can buff those out really easy, I have done it on far worse"
(Him and his brother used to rebuild the crap out of old hoovers, now they do predominantly kirbys)
Hmm.... Now tell me how that can be done!!! If I cant do it, I would be more than thrilled to have him do it for me.
The hood on the 65 is barely warped, its just badly gouged and has that crack. I have a feeling something got dropped on it, rather than a heat crack from usage.
Keep in mind, these are some pretty serious gouges!
