I was wondering if you guys wash your brush rolls. I just got done washing a brushroll from an oreck 9800 upright that I plan on selling in the next few weeks. I'm wondering if washing them does anything bad to them? Its a ball bearing type brush roll and I just wanted to make sure what I was doing is ok for the bearings.

im not aquainted with Oreck brushrolls but, in general, you dont want to wet bearings (or steel!) without an effort to completely dry and lubricate afterwards.

if you want to make the brushroll(LOOK CLEAN) use one of those things that looks like a tooth brush but it has metal brushes. I use they ALL the time and it works like magic!
