Hi guys, it's Moderneezer again.
A few weeks ago, I bought the Wessel Werk brushless nozzle modeled RD 285 at the Chapman boutque (a store in my city of residence that sells vacuum cleaners and other things). I watched several videos on YouTube about this attachment (including some in the Performance Reviews channel) and read some threads and comments about such tool in the Vacuumland website and I wondered if I should get this item.
Well I got it and, compared to the floor brush that I bought a few years back (look at the 3rd picture) and to the combination nozzle that came with Numatic James at my workplace, the RD 285 cleans better and requires fewer maintenance but it makes a scraping sound that can irritate other people around me and I can't remove the rubber strips from the nozzle. These strips are stiff compared to one on James' combi-tool and to the one on the turbobrush modeled TK 286 (also from Wessel Werk and another attachement that I bought). Another issue is that, because the nozzle's flat, it can get stuck under a door.
I hope that someone can give me an advice on how to tenderize the rubber strips. I came across some websites that mention some methods involving wintergreen oil.
