Hi Folks!

I have a brown Electrolux model L (1966 - 1968). Does anyone know what the correct color of the cord is that plugs into the canister, goes up the hose, and connects to the top of the PN1 wand?

What is the correct color of the plastics on the PN1 wand.

What does the original hose look like?

If anyone has the correct original hose to sell...I would like to buy it.

Thank you

If by "brown" you mean tan, the trim was off-white; the wheels were brown; the hose was the same as for the bronze Model G -- off-white with pairs of gold stripes; the cords were light gray.

Here's a video I found on YouTube:

Model L's never came new in brown. The earliest Model L's were white with teal trim, and I believe that the optional power nozzle was the same as the Model G's. When the 1205 came out, they switched the color to blue with white trim, and gave it a matching PN1 style power nozzle. When the Super J came out, they switched the color to harvest gold, and paired it with the same shiny PN2 that came with the Super J. Your machine was probably rebuilt during the Olympia's run, as Electrolux always repainted the rebuilt models the same color as the current model to prevent rebuilt machines being sold as new. When the Olympia came out, the brown Special Model replaced the Model L as the low end cleaner. I have a Model G that is brown, and it was rebuilt around 1980. To answer your question, the white Model L came with a teal cord, the blue Model L came with a blue cord, and the gold Model L and all rebuilds came with either a tan or grey cord.

'the worlds lightest weight heavy duty vacuum cleaner&#3

Model Ls were--
--First White about 1964
--then Tan/brown to match last Mo G about 1967
--then Blue to match 1205(bag chamber changed to plastic)
--then Gold to match Super J
--later factory rebuilt as brown Special became the new standard model with tag riveted on with new serial no in (Olympia)brown or (Silverado) grey.
A great vac with optional cordwinders and would use same hose(if electric hose Mo L would use the pigtail version that was otherwise same) and attachments as deluxe models.

Oh, I forgot about the tan one. Is yours a deep hammertone chocolate brown or a light smooth tan color? If it's a deep chocolate brown, then it is a rebuild. If it's tan, it's from the late 60's. Both machines used a cream cord. I believe the tan units came with a light cream colored hose with brown tracers, and I believe the rebuilt Model L's would have been supplied with a non electric hose that used the same pattern as the Olympia.

We always referred to them as the Bronze model G and the brown model L. The words "Chocolate brown" referred to the Olympia One, and the 'tan' color on rebuilts was the very last of the rebuilts called HP (High Performance).
