I can't believe I managed to get my hands on this, I love it to bits! A steal of a price of £25!

It has never been used but it has been turned on before by the seller to test it was working, apparently, but I have fully inspected it and can see that is has
no signs of use.

Lux, etc.

Wow, sure was a good buy Alex.
Virgin white! Did you get it that clean? It's nice to see domestic made items.
Now, about photo #11, watch where you put that. LoL!

It is indeed pure white, this is how it arrived as it was protected in its polystyrene womb, so it has remained that colour and clean but it is brsndnew and smells like a new vacuum when it is turned on, which is really odd as it is an old model, it is 26 years old this year! 😱😂

I was very surpised that the temperature change in the loft that is was stored in, throught the seasons, over the years, has not affected the colour of the plastic, rather amazing.

Lux, cont.

It also sounds fabulously "new".
When a vacuum has an odor from it's exhaust, I thoroughly clean it with disinfectant, pop in a new bag, and filter, then take it outside and let it run for a minute or two.

It is due to direct sun contact, however, I put a white bodied Hoover Junior in the loft a few years ago and it has yellowed terribly, it is cery dark up there, no windows or anything, pitch black, I think extreme summer heat and freezing cold winter tenperatures have an affect of the pigment of the plastic.

I love the new smell of a vacuum when you turn it on, surprising it still smells freshly new and not musty, as it will have been stored for 26 years.

Alex.

Alex,

Ok! I had some white Herpa 1/87 scale model cars that have also yellowed from being on my model railroad layout. Only on the side exposed to light. I used a Q-tip and some bleach to clean them up. The I rinsed them off, and polished them with a polymer liquid car polish.

Alex,

it's got some good power. You mentioned the Contour, it's successor. I think that was the first upright to share a US model with Eureka. Maybe called the Bravo. I have to look it up. I'll know when I see the Contour pic.

Thanks, Suckolux.

Vacreator, the Contour was a more modern style 600 series but no where near as good, they were still clean fan and same tool layout but the had a newer style more basic combo upholstery/dusting tool.

Here is a basic Contour that replaced the 614.
