For years and years I have drempt and wished over Birthday candles that some day I would get a new and unused Hoover Senior or Hoover Junior...Even long before I knew what they were called! Of course Inthought it would never be possible because I was born in the early 90s and those days were long gone so it could never be a reality!

Fast forward to 2017 and 23 years of age! I stumbled across a listing on eBay for a new in box Hoover Senior that was still factory packed and only had the box flaps opened for the Photos! I could not believe my eyes! I immediately watched it for the agonising 7 days! By the end it had gone from starting bid Ā£75 to Ā£252 and then in the last few seconds I bid in with my maximum set at Ā£920! I knew it would blow my months wages but I wasn’t letting it get away! I put my bid in, in the critical last 3 seconds and it jumped to Ā£625! Which is an awful lot of money but I was releaved it didn’t get to my maximum price!

So I won it for £625 and then postage was insured which cost a bomb too! Totalling the final price at £672 and change.

Despite the cost, it areived absolutely flawless and just as described, here is the unboxing video.

That's amazing! It's unbelievable that this vacuum hasn't been used for almost 45 yrs till now, nice birthday present! I wish u a happy birthday and many many more, including the Hoover!

Amazing time capsule

I wonder if you were bidding against the
Hoover Historical Center?
(they might make you an interesting offer)

Amazing there was other people out there with such a devotion to it to bid you up to $600 (not that there isn't people out there that bid on auctions to bump the price up out of spite and make you pay more for it).

Congratulations on your new cleaner........

and thanks so much for the thoroughly detailed and articulated video. So cool! Cherish and enjoy!

Considering the value of the British pound relative to the U.S. dollar, that's close to a $1,000. What amazes me is that this thing would remain untouched for the better part of half a century. How does that happen?

That is exactly what gets me too! Although it has been touched now and briefly used/tested! It was apparently in someones mother-in-laws loft since it was new...Perhaps an unwanted gift.

The fact she found it in a loft and made the better part or 600 quid for it, well, she will be laughing all the way to the bank!

I can’t believe it has been kept this way for so long, this is the oldest new and unused, boxed vacuum I have ever seen.

bnib hoover 652c

Hello Alex,

This kind of find is wonderful, I know how it feels. I have 'bnib' electrolux models 65 and 80.

I can remember when the 652c, dirtsearcher junior 1354a and the rest of the range was in the shops circa 1969-73ish.

Your dream machine has brought back memories!!

Enjoy.

Regards, Walter, Shropshire.
