Here is the other machine that I brought home to clean up for the Hoover Historical Center. It is a Canadian model 155 from 1936. It is very similar to our model 150 except for the bag.

Here is a close up of the undercarriage...look ma no dirt ever! And is that belt ever stretched. You have to remember that this machine and the others that I have posted have been stored since they were new. They will clean up nicely.

Cord detail...the cord is very brittle but it is the original 70+ year old cord for this machine....

Spats...

This machine takes a slightly larger belt than a Convertible. I use eureka belts...yes eureka belts...YIKES! They are longer and seem to fit well.

This 155 cleaned up nicely. I greased the motor bearing and the agitator as well. I had to replace one brush strip as the original for some reason was bent in a "U" shape from being on the machine for so many years. Now it purrs like a kitten. The original bag is brand new but has some holes in the bottom section. Again this one after looking at the motor and fan is brand new! The handle is has a crisp feel to it like it would have had in 1936. The rubber grip is still smooth and shiny. The cord is a little brittle but is "fatter" in diameter than a model 28 cord. The two speed switch is flawless and this one would clean great on low speed. It was a real treat to be able to work on these machines.

Tom - I was wondering if it would be ok for me to use some of these pictures on my website, on the 'Canadian Models' page - you would be given full photo credit of course! Is that alright??

Feel free to use whatever you like...once posted here anyone can use them. Keep us all posted about your website!

Thanks very much! I've been doing a bit of work on various pages today, but I'll wait until I've finished this bit before I highlight specifics. Feel free to have a look in the mean time if you wish...

Also, you don't have any pics of the whole cleaner, do you? Or any of it since you've done restoration work on it?

Me too, the maple leaf is a nice little detail, and clearly, including it on the Canadian models was already a tradition for Hoover! Glad you like the page!

Do you - or does anyone else - know of any other Canada-only models? I know the Junior 370 or 375 was sold over there, perhaps with a different model number...does anyone have any pictures of this?
