I had forgotten about that, but you are quite right, it is the earlier style. By the way the Freedom 1000 (not the basic model) actually goes up to 1986 in the UK.

Whilst the Co Op version was exclusive here it was regular line in Italy. By the way, I am sure you will recall a hardbag exclusive version of the U1012, although the box was somewhat different to the design of the 1036 and following hard bag versions

Remember the hardbag version of the U1012 very well, though I must suggest it was only the front cover of the dust-bag which was different from the U1036 style. But what my own memory tells me is that in the UK this style of cleaner was brought in to replace the Junior Deluxe (Starlight style) of cleaner, which was clearly still on sale in Italy.

The range in this cataloge is clearly baffling; of the uprights there is little to chose between the U1012 Junior & U1104, and also the U4058 senior & U4064/ 46 other than the design difference, which to the average user wouldn't be much of an issue.
