Had a quiet spell at work today, so thought it was the best time to have a play with a new Bosch. I've had a play with the Athlet, but not the new Power Silence. I've always been skeptical so I was very dubious, even a colleague was, who hates Bosch.

There is one word I would use to describe this machine and that is AWESOME!

The suction is amazing, even turned low it was still sucking up the rug, but the muck I put down didn't touch the sides.

He tried it on the Dyson rug which gets a fair amount of flour on it. I was amazed then when a vast amount of flour came spinning around the cyclone!

And it's beautifully quiet, even on high power. Quiet, powerful and cheaper than a Dyson, and only at 700w. Yes 700w!

My new favourite, and even my colleague has been converted to it.

Well you haven't looked in depth enough DT. The tools store on the hose.

I tried the bagless versions of a lot of Bosch vacuums over the years - they have normally been quiet, so it is good to see that Bosch have an even quieter one.

I also had the GL50 for about three years - the bagged version. Great capacity, uses similar capacity to Miele's GN bags and the Bosch is also usually quiet quiet even used in the second or third levels.

It also has a 12.1 metre cable which is a lot more than Miele supply on their cylinders/canisters. However the plastics leave a lot to be desired IMHO. Neither the handle or main body has the same quality as Miele and bags for that Bosch can be harder to find. Also Bosch don't normally supply a dust brush and the tools you do get aren't that good as Miele, either.

Nar is right as usual! The two accessories clip onto the metal tube, best place for them I reckon. I agree Nar, the plastics do feel a little cheaper than Miele, but looking at a dyson, theres no comparison. One can get the DC28 for the same price, which is difficult to manoeuvre, flimsy, noisy and not powerful. How this machine only got a C in carpet performance is beyond me, it did a great job on our test rugs, even picking out all the flour of the dyson rug!

Whats that cry I hear? Jimmy is in agony due to all these cleaners being more superior than his! Even Vax are!
