Hate to say it, but the nut job is YOU! The price for that Miele is priced exactly as it should be, as it's half of what it would have been new. Plus to pick up a BOL Miele S2 Titan with 217 pn would be $600 new at most vendors & stores, you're gonna pay that price if you want the Miele name. Might I also add if this Miele Blue Moon was in a shop, it would be going for AT LEAST $650-$700.
The fact that it is quite used and about 8 years old I would say that I agree that it is quite high of a price. I mean $200 would be more reasonable considering the fact that you would need to buy a new dusting brush and bags for the machine. Let alone the machine probably has never been in for service and may need to be gone through and cleaned.
YES ROB,
I am QUITE aware how much a blue moon retailed for new!! But this is at someones house, no maintenance, no warranty just some random housewife that wants half price for an aged vacuum after years of wear!! $200-300 would definitely be more reasonable. I already have 2 silver moons that I have purchased. I have a blue moon on the way that I bought off of someone from Vacuumland for $40.00. So yes of course if you buy from a vendor they will be pricier but its backed and warranted. Plus they mark everything up 200%. So ROB, YOU must be one of those nut jobs if you would pay that much for it. Electroluxxxx I agree with you 100%.
$450 is quite high. A new HEPA filter retails for $50 and the machine would surely need one. That old power nozzle was awful. I have one with my Blue Moon. I also have the S236 power nozzle (the current full size one) and it's far better.
I paid $500 for my Blue Moon, new, 10 years ago.
I bought a Flamenco last month for $60 with extra bags, filters and the complete tool set. The motor was replaced last year as well. It was worth it, but I don't think any aging Miele is worth that much.
I think dysonman1 and fantomfan are right on the money!! You guys know your mieles! I have been researching them for a wile and I think the price is quite high. We all would like to get that much for our beloved used vacuums Wouldn't it be nice to be that lucky!
