really?

i hope you are buying this just for testing purposes, otherwise unless you have a hard wood floor and need something this small i wouldn't get it. i would go bissel at least. but that is just me.

Not planning on buying new, however I will be hitting the goodwill by my house, they go in a ton of new vacuums that I saw in the back room yesterday, Including a convertible or two and the machine I have been chasing forever, a green Eureka Sampson from the 80's. Usually my Goodwill never has vacuums but the sales clerk said they got in 30 of them that they have to put out.

Yep I am testing The DD, I will see my local GoodWills Too

Kirbyg4 yes I'll Be Buying this vac for testing purpose and since it isint great I waited for a sale.

I really dont have any GoodWills near me but I'll be seeing my local thrift store

I haven't had a "new" vac in a while, so I'm keeping my eyes out for a self propelled windtunnel. I sold them when I worked for Sears, and I liked them. I like self propelled vacuums in general, and I don't have any modern hoovers. I think not having any windtunnels is a shame for me because they came out when I was growing up and it just seems like a gap in my collection... However, I want one with dirt finder lights and all attachments, and the height selector and bare floor slides NOT missing, so I may be looking a while! Still gotta decide on bagged or bagless... I generally prefer bagged, but I don't have many bagless vacs, and I'd like to see what it picks up... but the tower filter in those windtunnels are a nighmare, decisions decisions!

I'd never consider a Dirt Devil Dynamite for myself, but if that's what floats your boat, good for you. It's nice to see people get what they want! If I ever come across a Dirt Devil Cruiser, the blue and metals self propelled one, that baby is coming home with me just to look at, I'll play with it, but use better vacs for actual cleaning!

isufan... 30 vacuums at the Good Will! I think I would faint right then and there if I walked upon a site like that. If you get a Eureka Sampson, please post a picture, I have no clue what that is!!!!!

Dirt Devil Quality

I know alot of people may critisise me for liking dirt devils but I think they are good vacuums. I actually have The dirt devil self propeled in my basement somewhere if I find it ill post pictures.

they really aren't that bad...

i don't want to come off as the type that criticizes the little guy but i agree with the guy above me, they are actually quite good vacuums[although not a personal favorite] and they seem to work good for the price when compared to other little vacuums for around 30-60$, i have a bissel "powerforce" bagless vacuum and it cost me about 50$ new at wal-mart. it is burried in a closet and will most likely not see use until only about once a year but it runs very good and will last for a little while. point being i think dirt devils are nice vacuums for the price and for they're size, although i think for a 30-60$ vacuum bissel would be better than a dirt devil[but that is just me] before i had the bissel i had a dirt devil for about 4 years, during its last days it served me well when i actually used it and did not give me to many problems[apart from the fact that the canister cracked for no apparent reason]. but when you think about it dirt devil is kind of the little "red headed stepchild" of vacuums and im always going to like Kirby the best, but that is just my two cents. hope you get good use out of you're new cleaner.

I need to agree with both szymon and Frank, Dirt devil machines are pretty good, I have the Vision lite model it is one of the early ones so it has alot of quality behind it. the machine was thrown by someone who was enraged with anger and yet it is still in one piece, it is about 9 yrs old and runs and cleans like the day it was bought. Dirt Devil in my opinion is not the type of vacuum that uses a high pitched screamer for a motor, infact a lot of the uprights seem to use good quality motors. not just that but instead of having just pure suction like many other machines Dirt Devil vacuums have airflow that is combined with agitation thus filling the container quicker than a machine with just Suction. I got to admit that in my opinion Dirt Devil has a really good design although I do miss the wooden Brushrolls. Dirt Devil is not my favorite vacuum nor the best in my opinion because I do have a favorite and there are better machines out there. but for the price you cant beat it.
