Today I picked up a beautiful Bissell "Vanity" carpet sweeper (push broom). It is metal, painted yellow with bright orange flowers. It is in great shape except for the handle. The handle is a 3-section metal rod, but it is missing the top section. Does anyone on here collect Bissell sweepers, who might know how interchangeable the handles are? I was thinking I could buy a bissell sweeper off ebay and swap handles.

No idea. If it's old American stuff, they usually conform to typical US standards. ie, the handle is probably a typical imperial diameter, say 3/4",5/8", etc. Almost all newer stuff like that would be made overseas, in metric-land. So, I kinda doubt a new one would have the same handle.

On the bright side, the top section of the handle, I would assume, is the one that does NOT have a smaller diameter end, to connect to the other pieces. If that is so, the piece you need *should* just be a section of steel tube X inches long, Y in diameter, and Z wall thickness, with nothing special about it, except perhaps a hole drilled in one end for the clasp or whatever. In this case, the tube is likely measured in outer diameter. Hope you have a caliper to measure it.
