Bissell Big Green Powerbrush (canister)

Ran across one of these in the original box sitting at the curb last night. Appearance-wise it looks like it might have been used all of one time and everything including the manual looks like it's there. It's currently sitting in the shed pending further evaluation.

Anyone have one? Like it? Hate it?

I've had a few of the Bissell uprights, really didn't like them, preferred the Hoover...but this looks like it might be a totally different animal?

I had one many moons ago. It did a decent job. It's quite a workout for cleaning carpets since it had no revolving or rotating brushes. There may have been a deluxe model with a "power nozzle", but mine just had a fixed soft brush at the bottom of the extractor. It has a built in pump. I hope it works well for you. The water capacity is good. Great for picking up water as a wet vacuum. I occasionally used it as a shop vac as well. Would be good for cleaning cars.

I had one, it did a really nice job. Power brush worked well on deep down stains and the power of the machine in my opinion seemed better power wise than the original big green I had. ( could have just been the seal between the motor unit and tank).

Pretty good find. I used to see these in catalogs but never saw the Powerbrush version in person. They were pricey, but I don't think Bissell had the upright cleaners with revolving brushes at the time, so these were about as close as you could get to that back then. (Other than the Hoover Steamvacs with rotary brushes that were just coming out).

I think these do-everything type vacuums didn't really catch on at the time, hence most carpet cleaners these days are the upright type and can't really be used as a wet/dry vac like these canisters could. Not sure why, perhaps they were too complicated to use or store?
