Growing up, I knew virtually no one who had an upright vacuum cleaner. The world of the 60s was populated by canister and tank type machines. At least it was in the middle of America. My mother even went so far as to call upright vacuum cleaners “worthless“. During my many decades of collecting vacuums, I can honestly say that both canister and upright vacuum cleaners are necessary as they do different jobs. One can certainly get along with having just one type, but to celebrate the complete cleaning job the pair can do, here are my favorite matchups from my collection.
