What do you think the best vacuum is in any way you find fit.
Stick with the simple G series. The automatic height adjuster that comes with the X series can be frustrating. It is slow to figure out a height, gets confused going from carpet to hard floors or vice versa and if you have large objects to clean up like spilled cereal, leaves or something a pet dragged in you can't over ride the automatically set height on the X to raise the nozzle. The X snowplows larger debris. With the G just turn the manual height adjuster to 4 and go. Sometimes simple really is better.I guess my go to for a modern "best vacuum" would be a Sebo/Windsor upright. I've been thinking about getting one for my mom and those have been really appealing to me lately. Especially since I've seen them everywhere in commercial environments. My Windtunnels are no longer being made and I guess a Sebo/Windsor upright would be the best modern equivalent to such. The blue color on the Windsors is really apealling to me!

I definitely agree on the colors the older Windsors used to have. I don't like the newer colors as much. Either an ESSENTIAL G4 or G5 would be as close since one of the colors is still the same. They also just recently released a new G4 in black, reminds me of the colors the old Century 400 U-VAC had. But I'd recommend visiting your SEBO dealer and try out every upright to see which one you'd like the best. My favorite would be the AUTOMATIC X4.I guess my go to for a modern "best vacuum" would be a Sebo/Windsor upright. Lucky me, I have a Sebo dealer just a few minutes away from meI definitely agree on the colors the older Windsors used to have. I don't like the newer colors as much. Windsor wants two to three times the price for repair parts than Sebo charges. Stick with a Sebo brand model. Example, the gray Sebo nozzle cover on a G4 sells for around $46 on the Sebo website while Windsor charges something like $160 for the exact same part only molded in blue plastic with WIndsor branding on it.. Same mark up for everything else. Windsor is not a good value and I say this as someone who has a Sensor S12 in the closet.Yeah, the G series is what I’m familiar with. Then I’m just gonna settle for a Sebo G series. Those are what I’m most familiar with in the Sebo world. Planning to save up some money for one so my family doesn’t need to rely on me for grabbing vacuums from my room.Windsor wants two to three times the price for repair parts than Sebo charges. One thing to note about the G models that I think is a design flaw, be careful to not let the motor get too hot. What happens if you do is that the filter exhaust cover can get wrapped overtime and not stay on anymore, I own a G1 and mine needs a replacement. The thing that sucks is mine is teal and the only color replacement I can get for it is grey. That's one of the reasons why the G models aren't my most favorite, still love them but they wouldn't be my first choice from SEBO.Then I’m just gonna settle for a Sebo G series. There have been multiple changes in the G series since the G1. Our custodial team at the place I just retired from used Windsor Sensor S12s which is a G4 with a slightly more powerful motor and a grounded cord. They would run them all day every day and I never saw the filter covers warp, and I was looking at their vacuums. I have a Sensor S12 and no problems with it getting hot.One thing to note about the G models that I think is a design flaw, be careful to not let the motor get too hot. There are synthetic cloth bags available for the Lindhaus along with a HEPA filter. But other than that, I do agree about the hose and I can see where you're coming from on the accessories. Nonetheless, I think the Lindhaus is still the best upright I've ever used. And I'd say the X4 is the second best, I would however buy one over the Lindhaus if they were still selling one in spring green. Love that color! Plus I'm not too crazy about white, it's one of if not my least favorite colors. I like the pastel mint color that's on the X7 but I don't feel like it's worth buying one over the X4. I would if it didn't had the BOOST feature. I wish SEBO hadn't discontinued the red X7 cause that one doesn't have the BOOST feature and the headlight. SEBO is currently my favorite and Lindhaus is my second favorite. Wish I could say Miele would be my third favorite but I'm not liking where they're heading currently so I'd say Tacony has that honor for now. After having experienced most brands, I would say that Sebo is the best. The X4 does everything well for me, and I have not had any issues with the automatic height. With the additional extension hose and optional attachments, the X4 does everything I need from a vacuum, of course I have a choice between many other brands. I recently got to experience the Lindhaus Healthcare Pro and it’s not bad but the Sebo is better. The Lindhaus feels mostly well made, except for the hose and wand. The hose handle is very poorly designed, and a minor complaint is that the wand needs to be slightly extended to fit the dusting brush. Overall the Lindhaus is also a great vacuum that needs better attachments and cloth hepa bags. From my experience with the current premium brands I would rate them as follows: 1. Sebo, 2. Lindhaus, 3. Miele. I definitely wouldn’t even consider Riccar at this point.
The Diamante and its commercial twin do not have a synthetic HEPA dust bag available from Lindhaus or the aftermarket. Paper only. You can, however, use a Kenmore Style O synthetic HEPA dust bag in them. There are synthetic cloth bags available for the Lindhaus along with a HEPA filter.
