That's all very well regarding the dust at the bottom of the bin, what about the dust that gets stuck at the top of the filter shroud? You keep jiggling the canister and its going to disturb dust. Leave it in the shroud and it will just build up again until you're faced with the same problem of the dust that gets stuck at the top of the shroud.

Bagless is hopeless for anyone with a dust allergy. End of.

Happy Birthday Narayan! Hope you had a great day so far
PS new Dysons now have the mesh screen instead of a shroud ;) it means less dust gets past the shroud and less build up of debris

If you have breathing difficulties,

I would avoid bagless vacuum cleaners like the bubonic plague if I were you! You can talk about "hygienic bin emptying" features to me until you're cobalt in the face, but at the end of the day you still have to deal with crap flying out of the bin and back into the atmosphere. At least with a bagged machine, everything stays inside the bag -- and some bags even seal themselves up when you remove them from the machine.

(Please don't get me wrong -- I'm not bashing anything here. I love some of the bagless machines, and have a few myself. I just don't think they'd be the best solution to this particular problem.)

Anyway, I concur with what Matt (PoconoVacMan) and many others have said: look into a Miele or a Sebo. Also, since you're in Europe you may have access to Bosch. They have some really good machines like the GL-30 cylinder (model BSGL3180GB/03) - although that model probably isn't available any more 'cause of the new EU power restrictions (it's got a 1600W motor). Nonetheless, a Bosch would also be a good choice.

Depends upon allergy

Well th choice completely depends upon alergy, if she has difficulty in breathing then canister vacuum cleaner would be fine. But I think Look for Bagged Vacuum Cleaner it would be best choice for you. I live in India and I am using Eureka Forbes Vacuum Cleaner that's my favorite choice. It comes with 220v of suction power and best for allergic folks. You can check here if you want look for more vacuum cleaners for you.

Handvac

The shark lv800 is the best hand vac. I'll attach a picture. I have the riccar squire and about 15 other handvacs. This is the best handvac for the price. The Riccar price runs over $100 and there awesome.

Lux from Switzerland

I’d consider the Lux S115 from Lux of Switzerland....here in the United States our Aerus which was formerly Electrolux has partnered with them to make the top of the line Aerus machine and it is basically the same unit but with different hose and attachments and instead of a white body, the Aerus version is black. Outstanding filtration for allergies. It is a canister so super versatile and has all sort of really good filtration to deal with the allergy problems you mention, dirt entrapment on these bagged machines is excellent as well. They may be pricey but well worth the product price and will last a long long time. Hopefully the power it works with is the same as what you have there.

I think far superior to the Miele.

I’ve posted a link to the product. If it won’t work try copying and pasting:
