Best cordless stick vac?

Okay, so my mom recently got a Bissell Bolt for the downstairs, and she was so impressed with it that she wants another one for the upstairs. It needs to be bagless, cordless, and somewhat powerful. It also needs to be under $80. If it were up to me, we'd be getting a quality bagged vacuum, but since my mother is infatuated with the cordless stick vacs, she wants one of those. I really don't dabble in the world of stick vacs, as I'm strictly a bagged upright and canister person. Any suggestions?

Why not try out a Dirt Devil Accucharge or a Dirt Devil Power Swerve? Each of these are under $100 and have “okay” test results - not the best, but not horrible - in Consumer Reports. You can shut off the brush roll on each of these to clean bare floors bettee.

I would go with the Accucharge, but they discontinued it.

I've used a fair number of cordless vacs in the last few years but there are so many constantly coming out it's nearly impossible to keep up!

I do have a dirt devil power swerve though and it isn't half bad for the price. It is cheap and certainly feels like it but the performance is fairly good and I've used mine a lot. Mine is also almost two years old and still works fine, batteries and all.

It has a pretty substantial brushroll with three rows of brushes, not very stiff ones but they do have some density to them. That plus a simple air path means it picks up really well on carpets and grooms some. You can shut the brush off for bare floors but I find it works best with it left on. It has a battery charge indicator on the handle, and the charging cord plugs in midway up the back of the vacuum. Dust cup is a little fiddly to empty but it has decent capacity and a washable foam filter. The brush also pops out really easily for cleaning.

Have to say I also had an accucharge and the power swerve performs much better for me. There aren't a lot of options for cordless in this price range but I hope this helps.
