Could anyone please tell me what kind belt I need for my eureka power nozzle,I tried a rainbow one that didn't work and a dirt devil DD style works Ok but I prefer the proper one (fax o matic) I would like to know the exact type for when I go to the vacuum shop. Also does anyone know about how much new brush ends will cost?
Thank you all.

Eureka PT Belt!

You need a Eureka PT belt. I love those Eureka power nozzles!! Here is my Eureka 1784B! I have a spare power nozzle that was given to me as well for it. Both power nozzles use the same belt!

Rob Shore is right, a Eureka PT belt is what fits & works on your powerhead. That Eureka powerhead was re-branded with many different names over the years....Compact, Beam, NuTone, Fairfax & Rainbow being the most common, amongst others. However, if you want improved performance, you could also buy a Kirby 301291 belt for the Kirby Generation series uprights. They are the same length & width as the Eureka belt, & work the same. The Kirby belts are "knurled" on the inside, so they will grip your brushroll & the spindle on your brushroll motor better & last a bit longer before wearing out & needing replacement. A Kirby belt should be able to be bought for about $5-6 dollars at local vac shops, versus Eureka about $4-5 dollars.

Now, when you say brush ends, are you referring to the brush strips on the metal brushroll? If so, you should be able to pick up a set for under $20 dollars.
