Someone is selling a gorgeous Eureka Princess canister on eBay. Looks like it was barely used! No sign of rust inside and tools are in near perfect condition. From about 1973.

I have no connection to the seller - just thought I'd bring it to everyone's attention!

I would agree on YOUR date.   They advertised it as from the "80s", but I don't think they were making the top with the 2 levels (back end being lower) at that point.  And the harvest gold would have been in it's prime in '73, by the 80s it was fizzling.  And the attachments would have been different in the 80s.

Still, it is in beautiful condition.

Indeed, I guarantee you the ratings label says "Eureka Williams" which means it was made before the sale to AB Electrolux in 1974. That carpet nozzle with separate curved wand was also discontinued by the end of the 1970's. If I had the spare storage space, I'd grab that piece of Eureka history as fast as you could say "Bloomington,Illinois"!!! :-D

It is a Princess. The Princess came in both "box shape" and "turtle shape" and the name was used in both 500 series models and 700 series models. There was indeed a rare Eureka "Prince" canister at some point in the 1960's which featured a stronger "jet air" motor, or something like that. It looked very much like the box-shaped Princesses but seemed to have more deluxe features. It is a very rare Eureka to find these days.
