I was a latter day fan of Beatles in the mid to late 70's and early 80's. Although most all their albums remained in print, if you wanted an original, or at least a 60's pressing, you had to buy used. But they were very rarely seen at a thrift store and if found were often in terrible condition.
Yet they were the 60's biggest act and sold scads of records...well, people held on to those records so originals were/are perversely rare.
Okay i think you might be able to guess what i'm getting at.
