Hey Gary...I've seen a pic of this somewhere many years ago!

Believe it or not, I think that is a Wahl electric razor on the end of the hose. I guess it "snips and sucks" at the same time....:-D

Wahl/Eureka

The barber vac (mine) came from the estate sale years ago of a local barber who was still working at 90 years old.(Just as I may still be fixing vacs at 90 but that's another story.)I think he had stopped using it years before when hose and cord cracked. This might be an interesting restoration using the old RotoMatic and the newer Wahl clippers seen above. Many of the upright steamer type upholstery hoses seem to be a similar size.Does anyone know when Wahl sold these. As a household vac they were of course sold as Eureka,Wizard & others from mid 50s to mid 60s.
This and much more WILL GO this year.Keep watching. There will be 33 items on EBay this week and MORE & MORE to follow. As always any are welcome to visit in person and leave with a truckload!!

That was the big craze seceral years ago.

People could attach the clipper to their vacuum and cut away. Would you think that would be a lot of hair??
I used to get my hair cut at a place where she'd run her shop vac all over the place after every haircut. She was'old- school Italian'....festidious was not the word. I tthink if she hada cuckoo clock, she'd have put a tiny newspaper under the bird!

Wahl vac

I've worked on several of these. There is a microswitch in the tray where the clippers rest. When the clippers are lifted off, it would release the switch and the vac would come on. There are also these small box shaped vacuums that work with clippers, then you would turn a valve in them that would convert them to be a blower, to blow hair off your back etc.
