Another lard lover

I use lard for most baking / frying. Almost the only exception is softening onions, for which butter is the rule. I don't have margarine in the house. ;-)

To Lard or Not to Lard

The only regular use I get from lard is in making my homemade tortillas. It's my adaptation from mom's and grandma's flour tortilla recipe, although they also used lard. In Spanish, we call lard "manteca", which is ironic because now the majority of my family in California lives in Manteca. LOL
 
I ALWAYS use lard

When I make Moravian Cookies, Crisco makes the dough brittle and next to impossible to roll, you roll them paper thin.
