Ladies and Gents:
I am seeking a replacement air filter for the "exhaust end" of my Electrolux Automatic Model E. anybody have any idea where I can find one?

Thanks.

You could take some fiberglass insulation and cut a piece to fit, but sometimes fiberglass has a formaldehyde odor that I find unpleasant.  Another option is to use 3M Filtrete furnace filter material, package for use in "hammock style" furnace filters.  The material is quite thin so I fold it up into 3 or 4 layers and then cut a circle the right size.

Hold onto the old filter . . .

Every now and then, the square filter for Electrolux tanks from the LX to just prior the G turns up on eBay.

If you can't you can't wait long for the real thing, you can try vacuuming the filter you presently have if it hasn't suffered much from age.

As suggested you can try using heat-resistant filter material due to its being positioned after the motor's exhaust. I'd check the machine during a couple of uses after refitting it to be sure it's not running warmer than normal -- meaning airflow is being compromised. You may need the old filter for a template to round of the corners of the new stuff so it fits as properly as possible inside the area provided in your cleaner.

Venson, I just checked out the Ebay link....that filter is the same one that the Canadian Electrolux 86/88/89 models used. The filters are still being made & are still available at the Aerus stores here in Canada. There is also an aftermarket version being sold at vac shops, too.

Perhaps Munsot1 should try contacting an Aerus dealer in Ontario, & see if they will sell & ship to him in the USA?
