This is picture of an auction that is going to be held in Berea, Ohio on saturday the 20th. The picture is only of half of what they are offering.

Why, are they there ?

I have to ask, are they rejects and returns. What is the reason for the auction.
I would have to agree with Pete, I'm only 2.5 hours away, just don't see the vintage vacs I'd like to see. Then I'm open to newer ones too.

'Auctions' like this are all the rage on both sides of the border. Stock is acquired from small shop closings, department store (ie SEARS) discontinued floor models and overstock, and shipping warehouse clearouts...'Fell Off The Truck' vendors. The loads are bought as job lots at extreme discount by pickers and then trucked to Auction Centers like this to be sold individually at a minor discount and everyone makes a profit.

This is how I got my two Kenmore (LG) Premalite bagless uprights for $25 each.
The design configuration, colour and test runs in-store had attracted my interest months before in the past at Sears but no way was I gonna pay over $300 (marked down from $599) for one. Just dumb luck I stumbled across Stratford's 'Auction' center.
This version of the Premalite was made by LG in 2008 and is a very nice vacuum even for a bagless; the equal of a Dyson and much better looking, imho.

If you do pre-sale web research on the current prices of the vacuums you can go to such an auction primed for a bargain (or not) on something you otherwise would have no interest in. Sometimes it's not even an auction but more of a Clearance Center - everything has price tags and you simply pick & buy.
