Hehe...you're right! But it looks like all the items for sale have been cleaned and refurbished... So no need for a spa treatment after bringing something home.

Nice vintage Continental Eureka upright there!

Atomic warehouse-Been there! Great Place!!

Always great, looks even better on current site. When I was there there were 2 complete GE kitchen cabinet sets upstairs and a British sports car on the elevator! Also much original literature for cars, vacuums, etc.I agree that the prices are at the high end of high but rare, quality items that should be as described by knowledgable owner.

I've heard from someone once that the owner is a smoker and smokes within the business. THat was many years ago and I haven't verified that, but again, from what I heard -- everything wreaked of cigarettes. It does look like a super cool place, I'd love to check it out sometime.

Oh...that's too bad about the possibility of cigarette smells on the items for sale...:-(

On the other hand, the odour may give the merchandise that 1950's atmosphere needed to recreate life in the homes of that time! :-)

Really!
As many people that smoked in those days. The smell will dissipate.
Like a cigarette smell is worse than a 50 year old upright bag.

Cigarette smell "dissapates"?Not quite-the "tar" left behind from the cigarette smoke stays until the tar is washed away. The tar being messy-also carries the tobacco odor.On a Kirby I bought years ago-forget the model-the dump bag was so bad I simply replaced it with a new one from a Kirby dealer.Had to wash the tar from the vacuums fancase, emptor and even the fan.
