I found this behind my Dad's shop in a pile of old wood yesterday.
Anybody know how old it is?
I'd bet Rick could restore it. :)
Enjoy

Kenmore Automatic

This was the Kenmore Imperial's (bugeye) less expensive sister, the automatic, circa 1937. They do show up on eBay from time to time. With the broken bakelite motor cover, and chipped aluminum, I'm not so sure this machine is salvageable. A shame there isn't more of it still intact.

Good for parts.

And as I study the bumper I realize its the exact same recessed lettering font and spacing and stripes as the bumper on my Kenmore Touch-O-Matic Streamline carpet sweeper. Could it be my Oak & Nickleplate sweeper predates WWII?

This is a before restore pic...

You are so right, this looks like a challenge that Rick would really enjoy. I'm not sure if he has ever done an upright before though?

I definitely don't think it's worth it to restore. I mean, it's truly in awful condition. Maybe some parts are salvageable? I wouldn't have the guts or time to restore something like that. Let us know what you end up doing with it!
