I have an apex hand Vacuum. I'm attaching a picture. I'm looking for a belt. The royal handvac belts are to wide. It needs to be a round thin belt. The kirby transmission belt is the right size but the motor won't spin because it is on so tight.
If you can help let me know.

I'm afraid I can't help with a belt, but

What a darling little vacuum! I really like the burgundy color. Are those parts a thermoset plastic or painted metal? You got 'er all shined up nice, too.

Thanks

Kieran I thought that might be what it was but not positive.
Thanks on the compliments
.there plastic parts on the underside belt cover.

Does yours take a flat belt btw? My Sweeper Vac and OK Vac Brush(earlier iterations of this) take said hair tie, but I also saw a blue Apex that uses like a flat belt.

It

Has to be a round belt by the shape of the brush roll and the pulley. The dirt devil belts are flat and make a noise.

Sweet. Get a few rubber hair ties and see what works as I don't use a specific size. Also don't get the cloth ones, that won't end well lol

This might not be much help but...

I know the original belt was made of felt, so go to a craft store try and find some felt that you can cut to size. Anyways, what a cute vacuum! I have been interested in buying one of those, but they are becoming harder to come by on eBay.

Aardvark

My wife had a black hair tie. I used a piece of felt to keep the brushroll caps would vibrate as much. It runs like a top.
The title of my reply is my NIB Douglas Aardvark vacuum. It was taken out of the box by the seller on eBay but I've left it in the box. I have a used with box Douglas Busy Bee. The 2 Douglas handvacs are kirby hand vacuum vacuette.
I try to pair my old vacuums with their little brother. I have a 1920s PA Geier hand vacuum paired with my 1927 royal. I have the I have a royal 235 with the black and red royal belt cap and the hand vacuum with it. I have the 880 and 501 prince like half the collectors do.
The apex hand vacuum I assume is 1950ish. I don't see any apex uprights for sale just their industrial shop vac type cannister vacuums. I and everybody else would like a kirby utility vacuum to pair with my vacuette electric.
I hope some people find this off topic squirrel trail interesting.
Your vacuum looks like an apex but the brush roll looks hoover and the exhaust piece Isn't similar to my apex. If it has a big brother is it a hoover or universal?
I'm attaching pics of the NIB hand vacuum.
